This month’s scripture writing is about Faithfulness.

Revelation 2:10 says, “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” (NASB) The Christians who were part of the congregation in Smyrna are getting ready to have a rough time of it. Yet, Jesus tells them to “be faithful until death”. What does that mean? How were they to accomplish this? As Christians today, we too need to be faithful until death. When we put off the old man through baptism (Romans 6:4-7) we put away living a life that was UNFAITHFUL towards God. We got to start over washed clean. Now we are meant to be living a life that is FAITHFUL towards God.

Why be faithful towards God?

The first part of our scripture writing about Faithfulness is going to set our trust and faith in God. The whole reason we live the way God tells us to is because we trust that He is working for our good. If we don’t believe that, then why try to be faithful? So, the first part of the study shows us how God has been faithful to us and why we should trust Him with our way of life.

What a faithful life looks like

The rest of the scripture writing plan is full of verses that show us what walking a life of faithfulness looks like. God didn’t tell us to be faithful without giving any guidance, thank goodness! We have examples, parables, and commands that show us exactly what this way of life is meant to be. It’s one day at a time while keeping our eye on the goal – a home in heaven with the Lord. What does it mean to live a life in faithfulness to God? The Scripture Writing about Faithfulness builds trust in God's faithfulness towards man. It also shows us ways that define living a faithful life. Join us for 31 days of scriptures about faithfulness and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Word.

I’m new to scripture writing. How does this work?

Scripture writing is one of the simplest means of Bible study I can think of. It takes reading scriptures one step farther because we remember so much of what we write down. It is super easy to get started. All you need is your Bible, a copy of the Scripture Writing Plan (see below for the link), your favorite pen, and paper to write on. You can use looseleaf paper, a journal, a school notebook, or print forms like the Scripture Writing Study Builder and keep them in a binder with the Scripture Writing Plans. It’s up to you. All you need to do is start with the first scripture on the plan and write it out. Deeper study can come later as you begin to see connections between the verses in the plan and do other scripture writing plans. You are welcome to join us in the Women Walking in Diligence Facebook group where we share these studies and encourage each other. You can also join our email list to be notified of the newest studies and scripture writing plans as they come available.
