One of the aspects of chronic Lyme disease is the inability to lose weight because of how it gets the hormones off balance. I didn’t know this was a struggle I had due to a disease, I just thought I was not finding the right combination of activity and eating right to make it happen.
In the past I’ve always been able to lose if I tried, but after our fourth daughter, no more. We lived on whole foods and I was physically active when we lived out East, and I still lost no weight.
We moved back to Oklahoma and I decided that my fatigue must be due to my weight and spent six weeks in a focused protocol. I made “blasts” in my Ninja blender every day. Two meals out of three was only fruits and vegetables. Before this I only ate vegetables two or three times a WEEK, if that. I exercised six days out of seven. I followed this faithfully for SIX weeks, and NOTHING. I lost one pound. Talk about frustrating.
Fortunately, I mentioned that to my doctor and he connected the dots to Lyme disease and an overabundance of Vitamin D in my system (I could have shared Vitamin D with three other people).Anyway – I’ve had to wait until the Vitamin D was down and until I was managing the treatment of the Lyme without having hard bouts of herxing. It took seventeen months for me to get there. Now I’m ready to try to do something about some of my weight.
In using essential oils, I’ve begun to learn a great deal about how my body works in regards to the fuel I put into it. Processed foods often contain petrochemicals. My body responds to those petrochemicals by wanting to keep them AWAY from my vital organs. It does this by moving those petrochemicals into fat to be stored. Often this is the fat that accumulates around the waist and hips. Citrus oils in particular are very good at “eating” these petrochemicals.
I’ve been drinking water with grapefruit, lime, tangerine, lemon, or citrus fresh essential oils in it for over a year now. The result from this has been to help my body purge excess fluids and toxins. That has led to my feeling less like I’ve been through a weight lifting class and more like a normal person when I wake up of a morning. I’ve also applied grapefruit directly to my skin in areas where I wanted to firm up the skin. This has had visible results and my skin is super soft. Then I learned about the Petrochemical Weight Loss protocol.
If you watch the video on the site, Tiffany Rowan explains what the protocol is and how it works. There are also FAQs that you can read through. Basically, there is a “recipe” for the protocol. You mix the oils, apply them morning and evening every day for three weeks, and see what your results are. It is that simple.
I started my journey two days ago. I do not know if the Lyme will allow the oils to work the way they are intended or not. I may have to get rid of Lyme all together. I applied the Citrus Fresh with Ledum protocol Tuesday night then morning and evening Wednesday. Already my jeans are loose. I will keep track of my results and share the full result after three weeks – which is after April 7th.
In the meantime, if you have problem areas in your hips and tummy that you would like to try something natural and simple to kick start your efforts to control your body rather than it control you – you might try this!
Better yet, why don’t we do it together? Join with me and see what benefits you too can have from this protocol.
The oils you need for the protocol are: 3 (three) 15 mL bottles of Citrus Fresh and 1 (one) 5 mL bottle of Ledum.
This is enough oil to target your tummy and hips for three weeks. The Ledum only uses 30 drops, so one bottle is enough to do the Protocol almost three times (9 weeks).
You simply take the three bottles of Citrus Fresh, remove the drop reducer, and add 10 drops of Ledum to EACH bottle of Citrus Fresh. You then take a Sharpie and mark the bottles, “week one”, “week two”, and “week three”.
The goal is to use an entire bottle up in one week. I did the math. A 15 mL bottle holds roughly 250 drops of oil. So over seven days, I would need to apply about 36 drops of oil each day. Twice a day would be 18 drops of oil in the morning and 18 drops of oil in the evening. You are to apply like you would lotion though – be liberal with it.
Essential oils respond to your emotions quite often, so if you’re “stingy” with the oils, you may have “stingy” results. Be FREE with it. Smooth it over the trouble areas. Eighteen drops is really quite a bit of oil – it fills the palm of your hand. So that has been a good guide for me. We will see what my results are after the first week.
If you want to target more areas, you need to increase the Citrus Fresh, 3 bottles for every additional two areas. So if you want to do tummy, hips, thighs, and arms – you need six (6) bottles of Citrus Fresh for three weeks.

You have many choices.
You can choose the Basic Starter Kit, for $45, which makes you a Member (think like a Sam’s or Costco Membership). You can then purchase the oils for the protocol at a 24% discount.
The best deal is one of the Premium Starter Kits (this is what I chose when I began my oiling journey):
The Premium Starter Kit with Dew Drop Diffuser, for $160, comes with your Membership ($40 value), Diffuser , a 5 mL bottle of Stress Away , and TEN oils that are selected to give support to every system of your body. The available oils are Lavender, Peppermint, Lemon, Copaiba, Frankincense, Thieves, Purification, R.C., DiGize, and PanAway. You also get samples, small sample vials for sharing the oils with others, sample cards to go with the oils you share, and samples of Ningxia Red. All for $160! See why I went this route?
The Premium Starter Kit with Rainstone Diffuser, for $205 is the same kit as the Premium Starter kit. It has a diffuser that is equipped with a timer and has a larger reservoir, so it works in a larger room. The Rainstone is beautiful – with its handcrafted purple clay interior and modern exterior. This is my favorite diffuser! The diffuser by itself sells at retail for $223.36. So getting it in a kit that only costs $205 you are already getting a great deal!
There are also starter kits that come with the Thieves ($160) line of products or the Ningxia Red ($170) line of products. Neither of these comes with the ten oils or the diffusers. Both are great values. They are perfect if you are looking to jump start supporting your immune system (Ningxia Red) or using Thieves to help purge toxins from your home.
