I also make use of the puzzle maker website at https://www.discoveryeducation.com/free-puzzlemaker/index.cfm?campaign=flyout_teachers_puzzle to make crosswords, word finds, mazes, etc that I can fit to go with my story.

These resources are fabulous.  My own only frustration is that no book covers ALL the stories there are in the Bible.  But that’s to be expected.  If you’ll look around, you’ll find other things, like clip art or free color pages that can help you fill in those gaps.  I have NO talent in the drawing department, so I have to borrow from others.  But if you have the skills, put them to use making something to go along with these lessons to make them all the more memorable.  Have fun!

Enjoy

  1. These days it is so difficult to find Bible story books that are not cartoons. We had some wonderful ones in years past, but they are not in print now. Our eldest daughter and I paid to have some copied so we could just keep them for reference. I think the GoodSalt company has bought up all the best pictures and now charges outrageous prices to lease them for a limited time.

    1. I agree! I like the books I listed because they are sweet pictures without being cartoonish and silly. The books for the younger children are very open and simple. One book gets cartoonish looking with animals, but not so with the modern life pictures depicted for application purposes. It’s a balance. I wish there were more painting quality type images that reflected a reality to the characters. I believe it would aid in dispelling the “story book” concept that is often given to the biographies given in scripture. So long as I can avoid an ark with multiple windows and portholes and angels with wings visiting Abraham, Daniel, and Mary, I will be content enough.
