A Review of To Be a Handmaid of the Lord

Review Handmaid
To Be a Handmaid of the Lord

I am very excited!  The good women over at Maid Servants of Christ have agreed to review my book, To Be a Handmaid of the Lord

When I first set out to write these lessons for our daughters, that’s all they were – lessons for our girls.  They were to go into a binder for use when needed and likely to be forgotten once we had gone through them once.  As I worked on them, I could see the benefits the girls were getting from them.  I was not convinced though that I was doing anything unique.  I kept searching for home school material or Bible class material that grouped character study with studies of the women of the Bible and gave practical application – all in one book.  I was able to find multiple books that did one or two of those things. Being the picky person that I am, I still found them lacking. I realize that not everything can be put into one book – especially after having written this one, I could add so much more – but there just always seemed to be something important missing.  The beauty of the marketplace is that it, usually, has something for everyone.  In this case, I was not finding what I needed.  I also discovered that there were no home school curriculums focused on girls’ study.  I was moved to put together the pieces of things I had been doing, add a few more lessons and offer it others who might be feeling the same lack that I was.  Now, here we are, a published book, being used by congregations in different parts of the country, and reviewed by a Christian Women’s blog! That is just simply amazing to me!  God’s word can reach out in so many ways – and I am very thankful and humbled that this book is one of them.

I would love it if my readers would go over and see what they thought of the book at Maid Servants of Christ.  You can also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MaidservantsOfChrist/. Read the review and then let me know what you think.  Please share it with your friends who home school or teach Bible classes.  Help me to reach out to more young girls and women.  My goal is to help as many women as possible see past the lies that society tells them and to see themselves as God does – as a woman with value and purpose and power, no matter which stage of life she is in.  The world does a poor job of defining women, as with everything else, God does it better.  Let’s join together to show each young woman what her potential can be if she will but see it and run with it!

Enjoy!
