The First Woman

Lesson 3

To Be a Handmaid of the Lord

Lessons from the First Woman (Eve)

Eve. The FIRST woman, EVER.  Can you imagine that? There has not been anyone like you before.  No one has gone through anything you are getting ready to go through. You are the ultimate pioneer.  This is the situation Eve was created into. No mother. No doctors. No “Womanhood for Dummies” reference books. It was her, Adam, and God. I’m pretty sure that God and Adam were enough for her. Having God right there to teach you how to function as the creature He created, she could not have asked for a better teacher. Plus, she knew no different!

As women, some 6000 years away from Creation, we take granted the knowledge shared by those who have gone before, and may dismiss the gift of God’s teaching because we don’t seem to “need” it now.  Come explore this wonderful woman in this Bible study. Find what all scripture has to say about her – and what is notably left OUT.

Study the lesson then share your thoughts in the comments. Does it impress you to think of Eve in the context of being the first woman?
