Lesson 2
In the Garden
Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
(Chapter 2:4-25 is a more detailed account of creation.)
Verse 16-17 – The law God gives to the Man “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Verse 18 – God notices that Man is alone, and it is NOT GOOD (see chapter 1 vs 4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31)
God will take care of Adam’s need.
Verse 23 “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.”
Verse 24 – Moses supplies a follow through idea, “therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
Chapter 3
Verse 1 – The serpent was made by God
Verses 1-8 The serpent tempts Eve and Adam eats of the fruit also.
Verse 9-19 The serpent, Eve, And Adam punished
Verses 20-24 Eve is given her name and the Lord casts Adam and Eve out of the Garden.
